I need a system for the next 24 to 36 months (to run every single game released within this period) With all these technologies releases (AM2, 65 nm, Nvidia 7900, CELL Chip, etc....) this is crazy.

Thanks !

Put a 7800gtx to the first buit, the corsair 2x1 gb with cool sink (not value)for oc(since u want it for 24-36 months) and you are absolutely fine! maybe when u get more $$ you can get another gtx for sli.. this system will last for a long time!!

If this is a gaming system, do what you can and get the first system and upgrade the Video to the 7800GT to get that from that current set up, downgrade the CPU to the 4200+ and buy a better video card. You will get a better gaming performance and It won't matter if you have the "slower" cpu or not.

definetly for the next 2-3years get dual core. I could be wrong but dual core might be taken even more of an advantage with Vista "eventually" coming out.

I would wait another 2 weeks for the 7900s to come out. Prices will start to fall on other cards and drop some cash into a 7800gtx 512. You could always buy another one later on next year or so.

I think as long as your ram has a CAS latency of 2 then the ram should be generally fine. Corsair or OCZ are both fine companies.

Whats your total budget? Future adition budget?

I have something between $1,200 - $1,500
For future additions.... the plan is not expending any $ at least in 15 months
