I've got an external sound card with midi port installed. (Fortissimo II)
My motherboard is a MSI -K7N2G (Nforce2) card.
Everyting installs except the midi port. (exclamation sign)
"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."
Resource settings: I/O range: 0201-0201
Input/Output Range: 0201-0201 not available
I've tried a differrent pci slot, a different sound cards, it doesn't help
How can I resolve this problem or how can I hook my midi piano on the computer.
double check - some gigabyte boards have a scroll bar in the bios and those options seem to always be at the bottom - check through the bios again just incase, and while your there disable anything else you dont need like com ports, printer ports etc.
also - check in windows device manager (under view by resource type) if the resources are actually taken and if so by what.
I carefully examined the bios settings.
I already disabled everything i don't need (2 com ports)
In the windows hardware device manager I can't find any other resource setting that conflicts with the midi port or that uses the same settings. (view by resource)
I think that the problem starts with the motherboard. Perhaps the manufacturer decided to wipe any connection for a midi port.
So windows sees there is a midi port, he installs the software but don't know how to connect it.
I have this problem with exactly same error code, mine show up as the standard game port that is conflicting.
I have posted about this at my clans site but have had no help yet. So I am gonna link to my post cos it will take me ages to type it out and post images, if I am not allowed to link, please tell me and I will remove it, thanks ::
