Well, first of all, let me just say that my young daughter can write articles better than that clown. He makes it sound like he's some acne infested high school kid just getting started in journalism.

On to the topic at hand, I don't agree with the whole Viiv thing either and I too think its kinda lame. Intel just needs to put out some damn processors that really work and compete well first, then they can really start exploring with their wonderful marketing.

IMO, this guy is just looking for a reason to pick on VIIV. The central theme to his argument is this:

Here is where it gets funny, you can't buy Media Center without an OEM PC, or at least you can't buy it and stay in the licence terms.

Everything else he talks about is just nonsense. And you're right Luminaris, he couldn't write a logical article to save his life. His English sucks too.

Anyways, here's a few links to MCE05. All you need to purchase is a hard drive, motherboard, or processor to be "within licensing terms."

I don't see anyone stopping these stores from selling MCE. So the argument that you have to have an OEM PC is just plain rubbish. Despite what this clown says you CAN construct a VIIV complaint PC on your own and do it within M$'s licensing terms.

I couldn't agree more. But then that's why I don't bother reading anything from the Inq.
