If u can wait till late march or early april the cards will go down as the 7900 comes out but honestly there is never a good time to buy a graphics card .

Amen to that bro!

So that being said...I need to buy a card NOW. I'm building my PC NOW and after lengthy discussion and research, have abandon the SLi and Xfire idea and pretty much decided on a single X1900XTX.

Now the big question...from which manufacturer??

ATI
Asus
PowerColor
Sapphire
Diamond Viper
?? Somebody else ??

They all seem to be within about $70 of each other. It's going to be WC'd. Which one offers the best performance, highest reliability/stability and OC's the best??

Well if you want to get the most value card then that would be 7800GT. You can get it for around $290-$340 off the shelf. It is able to play BF2 and FEAR (which are the most demanding games to date) with good performance at 1024x768 resolution. The 7800GTX is great card having 24 pipelines and a bit higher clock speeds than GT. But the price of the GTX is still high for around $430-$500. The X1900XT is also good having to perform alongside with the 7800GTX 512 and in some cases better, considering it is about $120 less. But if your budget is big then, I would say wait till the 7900 card comes out and see how they perform. In that way you can have a lot of options to choose from and if your budget is over the limit then the 7800GT would be a wise choice and the price would be lower by then. :D
