My main hard drive recently corrupted and refused to start up. After installing windows on another drive in an attempt to check the corrupt drive, i've found that the computer will not boot windows if the corrupt drive is plugged in. Is there any way around this? I have tried to use recovery console to run chkdsk but since the drive is not assigned a letter it doesn't appear.

So, in summary, is there any way that i can repair this drive back to its original function, or is it beyond help?

I beg your pardon to ask a stupid question since I do not know your skill level, but sometimes knowing mine, I have to ask:
you did alter the jumpers on each of the hard drives for master/slaves, right?
