i am looking for a sound card that will give me high quality pop and hiss free microphone recordings as i want it for doing voice overs for my animation films. i already have a good microphone but using onboard sound which is not performing up to the standard i want. i want creative and have a budget between £50 and £100 may pay a liitle more if lots of people think its worth it.

Ooh, it's a straight forward answer dude... Definitely the X-Fi Elite Pro if you have the cash... It has most connectors for a decent studio recording.. and has a high-impedance input for directly attaching electric guitars and other plethora of connectors... If they are quite a hole in your jeans, then you could get the X-Fi Platinum which also has a breakout box...
