I purchased this MB recently when I got this motherboard it had BIOS 1002. When I would put 4x1GB Corsair memory module in the unit would hang at the BIOS spash screen. When I would only put 1 unit in it would boot a dos floppy fine. I then saw ASUS had a newer BIOS 1003 and updated it accordingly. Now when I put in 4 modules in the system does not even POST. If I choose to remove any of the DIMMs and run 3GB memory the system boots fine and boots a floppy without issues. For some reason I cannot run all 4 modules at the same time. I swapped the memory around to determine there are no faulty DIMMS it appears to be something motherboard related.
I put a ticket in on this a week ago and no one from ASUS even bothered to respond yet. Has anyone has better luck with support? Does anyone know models that are guaranteed to work with this unit? I'll buy alterate DIMMs just as long as I can get 4GB running.
Perhaps that board has a paricular issue with that ram? try one stick in each channel and run em in prime95 (so 2 sticks at a time, one in each channel) and see if theres any issues.
Otherwise if you have mem vcore options, bump it up to the next settings, and check the SPD values and maybe lower em - experiment and see if they will get 4 sticks to boot.

If they dont work try your luck switching brands.
May i ask why you need 4gb?
I think your right this board has a problem with this RAM. I'd be happy to switch vendors if Asus would come back to me ans say we've tested XYZ Brand and found it has no prooblems. Them not bothering to email me back at all is very frustrating.
I need 4GB Ram for VMWare ESX Server. I just got a license to run it at home I'm getting rid of all my servers and going to host them all on one box. Except my systems that have specific HW requirements. (Cisco PIX Firewall, Cisco IDS etc) My web servers, NFS servers, RDP Server will all be hosted in VM will save me a bunch of power and make central management and prototyping easier.
