I'd be more enthused to see greater interaction to eliminate incompability issues with recent graphics drivers and various AMD platforms.

Makes sense, considering AMD owes it's ass to Nvidia. If NF4 chipsets weren't as successful, and released on both Intel and AMD sides at the same time, AMD would be in quite a pickle. I wonder, however, why GPU technology is always a step behind CPU technology...

ATI and Nvidia are just migrating to 90nm, while still selling a lot of 130/110nm chips. Intel is already 65nm...amd standard is 90nm.

Oh well, thats true, but power consumption of GPU is still lower compared to CPUs (especially on non-high-end parts).

I'm not too sure about that. 512 nvidia's and the x1900's are insane, and with sli compared to dual core, i think sli would be worse.
