I have seen several OLD posts on the net about Windows 7 64 bit losing connecting with USB external drives, when copying large files...I have also NOT found a resolution.
Does anyone know if MS ever solved this issue???
HP Pavilion e9180t
9 GB RAM
Intel i7 Processor - 920 @ 2.67GHz
Intel X58 Rev 13 Chipset
nVidia GeForce GTS 250 Video adapter
Seagate 1TB Expansion Portable Drive (the drive that is dropping connection)*
*Drive works fine on Vista and Win7 32bit
Note: MS KB97697 patch does not fix, as I do not have an nVidia chipset
Any assistance would be appreciated.
I am hoping to find a software (Windows 7) fix to this issue, rather than having to install a new hardware...especially since it seems to be a Windows 7 64 bit issue.
