I have the Intel D925XECV2 Motherboard and Im curious to know if its able to support SATA-II (SATA2 Whichever the naming is preferred).

I looked online and in the manual but only came across "Four Serial ATA interfaces" which doesnt leave much to go on.

Does anyone know if this does support SATA-II as Im after a new HDD but I'm unsure as to purchasing a HDD that is SATA-II to whether it will work attached to this motherboard.

Any help is grateful.

Thanks.

The mb's SATA ports are the older spec, but the newer SATA drives are backward compatible with the older SATA spec..

Yes, SATA II drives will work in a 150mb/sec intfc port....
