i was stuck betwwen getting x-fi extreme music and x-fi fatal1ty and thought the I/O box would be usefull but couldent i just plug my microphone into the back of the x-fi extreme music and get the same quality sound recording as i would if i pluged it into the I/O box for the fatal1ty?
i am not an extreme gamer and the fatal1ty seem to be edging towards a gamers card.
does the remote come in very handy on the fatal1ty?
is it worth me paying the extra £50+ for the fatal1ty?

extreme music = £78.65
fatal1ty = £140.58

on my asus motherboard a8n32-sli deluxe there is an optical in port but if i was using an x-fi sound card that wouldent work as its for the onboard sound. is this correct?

I have fatal1ty myself and I think it is worth it if you are playing games and you are planning to play them in future.

Bear in mind there is in-between X-Fi version, i.e. X-Fi Platinum that comes with a drive. It sells for £119 on komplett.co.uk. If you are not playing games all too often, Platinum will be better for you.

x-Fi Platinum and Fatal1ty both come with their own optical I/O
