I am considering upgrading to 2gb (2x1gb) in the near future. I have seen some very attractive pricing on the Patriot PSD2G400KH 2GB kit. any opinions on the quality of the ram? Also, will it work with an EPoX mobo? I'm also open for suggestions, but my budget is 200 or less for the upgrade, so alot of the high end ram is out of my price range. My current system specs are in my sig.

I recently bought and installed a Patriot ram kit (2x 512MB) PDC1G3200LLK PC3200 (DDR400) and i'm really satisfied with its performance and system stability.
Despite its specs state CL2-3-2-5 in reality the best i can get was CL2-3-3-5 at 210MHz FSB. I believe there are also several tests available online that confirm this base latencies.
My own OC tests led me to CL3-4-4-8 at 250MHz FSB which is great for this class.

I paid for it about US$165,00, so if you got that money to spend i do recommend these OR Patriot 2x1GB kit PDC2G3200LLK non-ECC (check its compatibility with AMD processors).

Memory is memory, buy what your pocketbook can afford. If CAS 3 DDR400 2GB (2x1GB) is $199, CAS 2.5 is $259, and CAS 2 is $349, trust me, for a difference of $150 between CAS 3 and 2 there is little difference (to me).

I would take the additional doe, add a little more and updgrade my processor to and FX series or if your a encoder, sell off your AMD rig, make the switch to a Pentium D and put the pedal to the medal.

Leaping ahead is quite fun. 8)
