Should I wait for the 7900GT instead of buying a 7800GT. I mean if its goana be so close in price and yet have 4 more pipes with faster (??) ram then why not. I dont plan on being able to order my new computer parts until the end of this month anyhow.

True..

The 7800GT's could fall through the floor in relative terms... so I could grab one up cheaper. Im liking the 7900 though...

A 7900gt is talked about having 7800gtx speeds but cheaper, i would wait & check the reviews that are bound to appear in the next week...

should wait, even if you want the 7800gt most likely when the 7900gt comes out, the price for the 7800gt or older cards should drop so you would be saving a few bucks either way 8)

I'm getting pretty sick of all these "Should I wait?" kind of threads. No offense to the OP, but here's the hard and fast rule I go by. Its pretty simple.

If you can wait... Then wait!
If you can't wait... Then build!

Agree with nobly. With the release of MS Vista and DX 10 there will be probably new series of vga's from Nvidia and Ati. They'll take your money anyway. Question is: sooner or later?

with a refresh from Nvida coming in march do you think they will go out and produce a card less than 6 months after the 7900 series to support DX10?

sounds like to support DX10 you have to fully support all DX10 features

You should wait, you never know what will be best to buy.

lol if he keeps on waiting for what is best to buy then he will never get a new graphics card. Technology evolves so quick everytime a piece of New Shiny Hardware comes out there will be soething EVEN BETTER voming out in the enxt few months. Its a viscous cycle! btw how do people get round this im so stuck on what to buy and when to buy it?

A person said on the forums to me with a similar topic; it's never a bad time to buy a video card. So I say you should wait lol. The 7900 series might have good promises.
