All of a sudden my Win 7 Thinkpad t43 won't boot unless I take out the DVD device. When I power off snd remove the device it boots just fine. I was running fie for months.

  1. Can you do a system restore, back to before the problem started?
  2. Make sure the hard drive is the first boot device in the BIOS, and disable the other boot devices.

Try changing the DVD IDE/SATA and power cable.
