I already have 1 Gb (2X512Mb) of Corsair 2-2-2-5. The memory is fast and I don't get any problems (besides I can't OC), but I think my mobo has known problems with low latency ram. It would cost me an extra $120 for 2 sticks of 512mb.

I can buy 2Gb (1GbX2) of GSKILL 2.5-3-3-6 for only $150, so technically after selling my corsair it would cost me only $30 to upgrade to 2Gb of this stuff.

My question is what is the best upgrade for the money? Would the low latency ram even make a noticeable difference?

Thanks guys!

What motherboard do you have? Is this a custom build or a prebuilt - HP, Compaq, Sony,....

If you cant overclock then I doubt you can change the timings on the memory also.
2 sticks are better than 4 sticks in most cases.

The Command Rate (1T or 2T) seems to make a bigger difference than CAS 2/2.5 does.

My suggestion: 2GB of the GSkill CAS 2.5 stuff. You can run it at 1T. You usually can't run 4xDIMMs at 1T- has to be 2T.
