7800GT SLI scores low???

I have 2 7800GTs running in SLI and when i run 3D mark2003 i only score around 11700. My 3Dmark 2006 score in 6696. What is wrong here???

machine spec:

AMD x2 4400+ (not OCed)
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
4x western digital raptors (2x in raid 0)
Aopen 700 watt psu (quad 12V rails)
2x 512 kingston HyperX memory (2-2-2-5-1T not OCed)
Zalman CNPS9500 LED cpu cooler

any ideas??

aslo need for speed most wanted jurks like mad.

He probably meant 3DMark05.

Anyways, JonnyRock I can't say what your performance problem is. I'd suggest rechecking all power connections, and other things like the SLI bridge. Also make sure SLI is enabled in the Nvidia drivers.

rofl you are right, it was my 3Dmark05 score. Just goes to show dont ever work on a PC when you are dead tired.

I am running my 7800GT's @ 450 core 1.1Ghz mem (they are nice and fast)

3DMark03 - 25214
3DMark05 - 11800
3DMark06 - 6700

Every thing is running great, exept for Need for speed most wanted. Does this game need 2gigs of RAM???

well that still seems a little low. I got 12000 3dmark05... 2 grand is a lot. Are you using the SLI bridge? Did you enable SLI? Do you have any particular settings in the drivers forced to 4x of 8xs AA?

I just added a second XFX 7800GT for an SLI setup. With 1 7800GT I was getting 8022 3DMark05, with the second 7800GT in SLI 3DMark05 is now at 12111. This is with the cards overclocked to 490/1.13. Great cards by the way, ($285) easily overclocked to the above settings with the included XFX software. They are running nice and cool at 45C core temps at those OC settings. The motherboard on the other hand, gained 5C to 50C (A8N32SLI) and this worries me a little bit. Games like FEAR (after I finally got it to run..) and COD2 are pretty much maxed out at all settings and the SLI simply rips through them with no slowing down.

Make that 12251 3DMark05 score with the new beta 84.12 drivers.
I still think that his scores are in the ballpark of where they should be. I was only getting 11802 with the 7800GT'S running at stock core/mem. I'm running mine at 490/1.13 which is overclocked from stock 450/1.05.

my system is running great now, it is very, very fast. You are overclocking a bit more than i am so i guess that is where you are getting the extra few points from. I am also using the 83.62 drivers. where can i get the 84.xx drivers from :?: :?: :?:

All i need to do now is overclock the CPU and try to get 2.4Ghz outr of it :twisted:

Last I benched with 3DMark05 I got about 12,300. On 3DMark06 I scored about 7,200.

Although it's been awhile since then and I've made a few changes.

Pushing the poor 4000+ to 2.8Ghz up from 2.4 and the cards at 491/1.12 got a score of 12405. Really wanted to get to 13000 but I don't think that will happen.

12930 as of tonight with 2.9GHz on the CPU. Missed my 13K goal by a small margin. Will try again when I get a decent CPU heatsink.
