Hello,
I'm yet another one assembling my first homemade computer, to be used primarily for recording audio (DAW), and maybe a little video editing and Photoshop, but no gaming. I think I've narrowed down my components, and would really appreciate any advice/thoughts and potential compatibility issues. I'm going for pretty good speed and (obviously) as quiet as reasonably possible.

I already have:
Antec P180 case
Asus A8V Deluxe mobo

What I'm thinking of getting:
CPU: AMD X2 4400
Cooling: Scythe Ninja + Arctic Silver
Video Card: Matrox P650
Power: Seasonic S12 500w (for future power needs, and I currently have a PCI powered 8-channel audio interface [Aardvark Q10])
RAM: 2 GB Corsiar TwinX2048 3200C2
Hard Drives: Seagate NL35 ST3250623NS 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150,
Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 ST3300622AS 300GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s

Also if anyone can recommend a good combo DVD/CD drive, preferably dual layer, with as much compatibility as possible (DVD+/-RW, DVD+/-R, CD+/-RW, etc.). I was looking at the Pioneer DVR-R100?

Is there anything I've left out? Will I need additional/replacement fans? What kind?
Thank you very much for any advice or help!

Looks nice!
As for the DVD burner, I use Lite-on's. They are a little noisy when you're burning or reading, so that might be a consideration depending on how your audio-pc will be setup. But Lite-on drives are pretty good, I typically always get them. Good price too.
Plextors are good but pricey. Sony's are supposed to be good too.

I don't think you'll need other fans considering your case.

You could go RAID to aid in the audio/video editing.
