Has anyone had the same experience as I'm getting
when trying to restore an Ipaq 2210?
Having backed up the unit using Activesync which
reported was a success, I installing a piece of software
that had caused a hard reset previously and the loss
of all data. The same problem on the occurred again
when the suspect software was installed.
Doing a hard reset and then using Activesync to
restore the system all seemed fine and the host PC
reported the restoration was successful. It then
advised to removed the PDA from the cradle and
perform a soft reset. Doing this the Ipaq 2210 did
what is normal for a soft reset but never booted as
expected when the blue progress line reached the
far right. It just sat and as PDA's go stuck it's finger
up at me refusing to do anything else.
The complete exercise has been repeated numerous
times, with the 1.00 and 1.10 OS systems all resulting
in the same way. A hard reset works fine so I'm
assuming that the original backup was corrupt.
I'm not bothered about the installation of software
as I have all stored, it's the address book, appointments#
etc that will be a pain to redo.
Anyone any ideas on how I might get the backup
installed or failing that a program that will let me
recover the required data from the backup.
