sli enabled but using only 1 video card

Hi, i have an asus a8n32sli deluxe. lets say that i bought it used and the person who had it before me had sli enabled. then when i bought it and i only boot it up with 1 video card, should i still be able to see something on the screen on bootup?

dude, SLI settings are saved on the HDD...

no way you'll be affected. Thats like worrying that your credit card number will be stored inside a vid card you're selling -- somehow!

BTW, I recommend that the first thing you do is clear the bios with the jumper. and remove and reinsert the battery after 5 mins.

Check the BIOS. I don't know about the Deluxe board, but the vanilla board has a BIOS setting for Auto, Normal, and SLI. If the guy before you set it to SLI, that may be your problem. Also check the EZ Selector card and make sure it's set to single card.

*edit* D'oh. Guess you can't check the BIOS without a screen... Move along folks, nothing to see here.

turn off the PSU, clear the CMOS, try again

this board doesnt have the single/dual selector card, its auto

if you have a debug card, does it cycle?

also what PSU are you using

otherwise it might be a duff mb
