This is a Machspeed 865GDMP mobo. It will not POST and
displays a "ROM BIOS Checksum Error" and asks for a floppy systems
disk to be inserted in Drive A. I did that and it asked for a disk with
AWDFLASH.EXE. Did that, with the latest BIOS (A10). The BIOS
flashed and upon reboot the problem recurred and continues to recurr no
matter what I do. No matter what I do I cannot get this blasted
motherboard to run.
I have replaced EVERY user-replaceable component that attaches to the
motherboard - hard drive, cables, CD-ROM drive, floppy drive, CPU, RAM,
video card, and power supply. I've also tried to boot using the built-in
graphics, but that won't work either and produced a "one long one short"
beep code.
I had a P4 3.00 in it and Machspeed told me that the CPU was probably bad, so I replaced the CPU with a Celeron D-335 2.8 (approved for this mobo by Machspeed) and the problem still remains. I sure can use some help.
