i have a western digital caviar hard drive a 120gb sata drive , it's not bad but from a while ago it sarted making a strange and anoying "piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" noise wich is very anoying i have a p4c800-x motherboard and a chieftec powersource i don't think it's related but...
did anybody experienced this or have any ideia what it could be.

Anytime a HDD starts making funny noises that it never did before, start making the backups. It might last for somewhat longer, but it'll die or drive you insane w/ the noise eventually. :p

Follow the advice above on backing up and be prepared to possibly get a new one, but are you sure the drive just isn't heavily fragmented? It could be trying to compensate for fragmentation. When was the last time you defragged?
