Hi guys.

I am trying to decide if I should upgrade my video card or get new EVERYTHING.
I know the card I want is good enough and I can see the VGA charts.
The problem is the cards tested is in a high-end PC with a good CPU.

So my question is is a Pentium4 Prescot 2.8 Ghz good enough for most ANY game in 2006, reguardless of what GPU I have?
COD2, B & W2, FEAR, Elder scrolls IV. UT 2007, etc.
Such as 25+ fps, 1024x768 max settings, etc.

Assume I have a good video card and lots of fast RAM. (this is not an issue)

thanks!!

Yeah, you won't have any problem man. I use a 7800GT on my 3.0 Intel machine and its got game! LOL

My opty machine does seem smoother probably do to it being dual core but your Intel machine should work good man.

Still playing my Dreamcast

it should be fine, especially if you overclock to 3.4 or something, or if you have HyperThreading. B)

Thanks for the feedback.
It seems I can keep my "old" PC for another year or so then, without needing new EVERYTHING.

and if he overclocks to 3.4 (which he should be able to do easily), he should be able to play the max settings too B)

Thanks for the CPU chart, very useful.
I in the article, all CPUs except the the Celeron did well at everything.
Nice to see the CPU being tested with games and not just the graphics card tested with games.
