People talk about the x800 vanillas, and 6800 vanillas, and stuff. I figured out the vanillas for the ati cards are the gto and gto 2s, easy unlockables, but i don't know what is a vanilla card, or what makes a card a vanilla card. And why do we call them vanilla cards.

And can someone post a link to a vanilla 6800, or if there is anything other vanilla in 6 or 7 series from newegg?

Thx.

A vanilla card is a plain card, ie a 6800, x800, etc. I don't believe a GTO or GTO2 would be considered a vanilla card.

Ohhhh, ok. So vanilla as in "plain"

It almost always came out in topics when people talked about how they unlocked the extra 4 pixelpipelines in their gto cards, so i thought it had to do something with that.

I probably did not sound smart with my question then
But it is better to not know and ask, and not know at all.

I don't think the proverb went like that, but it is ok :)
