I'm usually not one to post these things but, this article I found interesting. I was actually at a local Circuit City near my house, and it was true that I found more AMD desktops than anything.

I noticed that the last time I was at "Best Buy" and "Sam's Club" too.

luminaris in the circuit city what is the fastest proc they offered for both amd and intel here in N.Y. the fastest i seen proc for amd was the 4200 and 3800 but for intel it was the 830 and 640

I didn't really pay a great deal of attention to that but, I did see some X24200s there. I've gotta go back there at some point this week so i'll take a closer look. Usually I take notice of those things but, not this time. I just walked down the aisle and looked at the little stickers and counted em. LOL

ok man you know the computer shop next to my dads bakery the guy told me that he can only sell amd procs cause the demand for intel has gone way down just last week he sold a celeron system for 500 only intel sale of the new year but he sold already 20 amd comps!

Reply to dvdpiddy

Yeah, the demand for AMD has grown alot. I usually build quite a few Intel machines myself however, last year and this year, i've built more AMD machines than ever.

yeah well what do you expect with amd now biting at intels ass its great for the consumer and luminaris i just called bestbuy and i asked whats the best proc and he told me that hp with the amd processor sells the best i asked whats the worst and it was the sony with the celeron processor man was it funny admitting that intel sucks cause 2 years ago everyone said that amd sucked and intel was the best now the tables have turned :D call your bestbuy and ask them if you dont beleive me

Now here's a question, which do you prefer:

Dell with AMD or

HP with AMD

I would probably go for the HP

Reply to Luminaris

It's bad enough that HP doesn't have people like you doing the support, without you rubbing it in.
At the rate Dell is cutting back on staff/support, that advantage may not last too long.
