pci clock synchronization mode

Will someone explain this in-depth to me please?

The options are (i believe): auto, to cpu, and 33.33 Mhz

what effect does this have on overclocking and what setting should they be set at and so forth?

Thank you.

  1. This is an option specific to your bios. If you were to post the motherboard model and bios revision level, then we could investigate further what this option does.

However, in general, you want the pci frequency to remain at 33.33MHz during overclocking, so I would think that should be the option to set.

Any increase in the frequency of the pci bus is going to lead to potential system instability (many pci devices are sensitive to changes in bus frequency).

  2. Thank you, that's mainly what I needed to know.
