Empire Earth II

Was playing this last night. Anyone try it? My only complaint so far is that it's not widescreen compatable (yet). I can't find anything online to make it widescreen at least.

I suppose the graphics could be a bit better, but overall it gave a good first impression.

Played the demo briefly, can't say it seemed any different from the plethora of other rts games that span the ages

I think that it is a good game. I absolutely HATED the original Empire Earth, but I had a chance to try the sequel for free, and I liked it. Graphics are greatly improved, but imo the best improvement has been them gameplay. The 'citizen manager' is the most ingenious and helpful advance to come out in real-time strategy games in many, many years.

Women--can't live with them, can't have heterosexual same-species intercourse without them.

I got this game and Stronghold 2 at the same time and SH2 actually supports widescreen so it's more enjoyable.

Stronghold2 is a lot more challenging. There's a lot more options. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is whether it supports co-op multiplayer games. The original didn't.

Personally hated empire earth II. Still think command and conquer general: Zero Hour is still the best RTS game out.

I have this game also. Yes the graphics are very poor. Fun factor is ok. I have played much better though.

R:TW is a great game but but apart from a few changes the game is essentially the same as the rest of the series and I find it's waaaay to easy to win battles in this game with cavalry. You can rout an entire army with just a few units.

Oh and use the attack dogs. They are fantastic at breaking up a hoplite phalanx.
