confused........any help would be nice

I just got a used emachines rig from a friend with a 2.8ghz P4 Northwood 133fsb. It's all standard, but for some reason the cpu is running at 100mhz with a 28x multiplier, when it should be 133 with 25x if i'm correct.Anyone got any idea why this might have occured?

dunno, but 133*25=3325 xD!!!
133*20=2660

nah, the 2 256mb sticks are pc3200 corsair, and are rated at 200mhz FSB.

yeah, i found that a bit strange, but it's what CPUz is telling me!

Nah, Intel made a 2.8GHz upgrade processor for OLD machines that didn't support 533 bus, 28x100, 400 bus.

It's actually worth more than the 21x133 version because of it's viability for upgrading OLD systems. It doesn't perform as well, but it's still worth more.
