Engine Selection Issue

Hi,
I've recently been having trouble with engine selection in Flight
Simulator. It happens sometime that the trottle axis on my yoke will
only control the left engine. I believe there is a key stroke to fix
this problem but am not sure what it is. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks

Patrick

This problem is often caused by a misbehaving gauge
in the panel. Gauges that improperly generate "KEY"
events every simulation cycle will cause multiple
keystroke commands from the user to be "broken up"
and not recognized, thus an input of "E 1 2 " will
be seen by the simulator as "E"...."1"....."2".
The single "E" will cause engine 1 to be selected
by default...the left engine in twin engine aircraft.

To determine if this is the problem, I recommend using
the "event_logger.gau" by Doug Dawson. This little gauge
will show all "KEY" events and will let you determine
if a gauge is sending an event every cycle. You can then
go on to determine which gauge it is and replece or eliminate
the culprit as you see fit.

Patrick,

type: "E 1 2". That should give you control again over both engines. When
typing either E 1 or E 2 will give you control over that specific engine.
Also when starting up: E 1 M ++++ should move the starter switch through the
magneto positions, if you know what I mean.
Enjoy,

Loek

Patrick,

See my second post in this newsgroup under the
"FS2004 Throttle Problem with A380" thread.

What is described there is most likely happening
in your case as well.
