PSUS4 and Epson Status Monitor (Stylus Photo 825)

I've read a lot about the incompatibilities of the PSUS4 Linksys Print
Server and I was wondering if my issue is a result of that? First of
all, installation wasn't a breeze, but that being said - it appears to
all work from my XPPro to my Epson 825 when I print. But, the problem
is that the Epson Status Monitor - that also monitors the ink level,
cannot seem to connect to the printer anymore and while I can seem to
print fine, the Epson software cannot find the printer. This is a
bummer because the ink level monitoring was very useful to me. Is
this a PSUS4 thing or is this inherent with all networked printers?
Are there other print servers out there that would not have this
problem - leading me to return this item (just got it a week ago).
