Overclocking question

I just upgraded to an amd system and i have questions on overclocking it. I have a A64 3200+ venice on a Asrock dualsata2 939 motherboard. Here is what i did :

-htt to 235 x 10 = 2250ghz
-transport between north and south bridge set to 16bits and 1000mhz
-memory is running at 2.5-3-3-7

with these settings it runs stable idling at 34° with stock cooling

are there other settings i should know about for overcloking an athlon64 ?

Memory divider is the one you're missing.

I'm a bit confused with your numbers though. HTT 235 with multiplier x10 should be 2350GHz.

As you're using PC3200 memory, then your original memory divider (200) should have been CPU/10. If this hasn't changed, then your memory is also running at 235 (still CPU/10). If you were to reduce the divider to 166, then you would be running CPU/12. At 2350GHz, this would be 196 (which is close to spec).

Please note that I'm making some assumptions here regarding your memory capabilities. It may run fine at CPU/10, but it's worth testing. Also, some motherboards may be capable of automatically setting the divider. Relaxing the timings may also enable your memory to be stable at 235 (maybe you have already done this). From a performance viewpoint though, you would need to run some benchmarks to see which is better.

If you need to check your memory divider and timings in windows, you can use CPU-Z.

www.dfi-street.com has the best a64 oc guide I've seen. it makes the assumption ur on a dfi board but the methods are almost identical.
