Ok i am working on my dads computer and when i went to go buy some thermal paste i assidently picked up the Arctic Silver Adhesive and not the Compound, will it still work, i know its perminant but he doesnt care, but when i went to the Arctic Silver website it said not to use it with a CPU and Heatsink, i hope it will otherwise he might get a little mad cus he also had to buy another stick of ram, which he thought wasnt needed.

Don't. If you ever have to remove the heat sink, which can happen, particularly if you don't mount it right, you're screwed, and will have to potentialy replace the CPU, heatsink, and/or motherboard.

For $5-10, it's not worth it.
