Hi there - getting this problem at various airports and can't seem to find a
solution...have two runways active (one for landing one for departures) and
after the 4th/5th a/c departs, the next doesn't move to the hold point so no
more a/c depart...each time this has happened I've been the next in line so
had to restart! How can this be resolved? It happens at some (AMS/FRA for
example) and not others!

Thanks in advance, J

Jason,
I don't know if this is the cause, but its worth a try. If the aircraft
in front of you won't budge, it may be because you have positioned your
aircraft too close to it. The program stops aircraft from moving on the
ground if it thinks that it is going to collide with your aircraft. It has a
certain "zone" around your aircraft, and if it detects any aircraft inside
that zone, then it stops them from taxiing. It is quite annoying at times.
The next time this happens, try slewing your aircraft farther away from the
one in front of you, and see if it starts to move. Hope this helps....

Hi,

This is normally due to one of two things, both repairable with AFCAD:

1. The red hold short node just before the runway is too far from the
runway. The Fault Finder in AFCAD will check for this.

2. You need to add a blue taxiway node about 100-200 ft back from the
red hold short node. This will allow aircraft in the queue to move
ahead properly.

AFCAD (AFCAD 2.21 for FS2004) can be downloaded at the www.avsim.com
file library. Do a search for Lee Swordy as author in Extended Search.

Hope this helps,
