Wondering what type of set up as far as cooling goes would I need to achieve this.
I only what to overclock the CPU and maybe the GPU. I dont want to have to buy any faster ram than what Im buying (pc3200)
I was looking at getting a athlon 64 3400 but why if I could buy a 2800/3000 and overclock it right?....no? dont know....

You'll need better ram to do CPU overclocking, but good Corsair XMS memory can overclock well and still goes for a good price.

Depending on your case and your ambient tempurature, you can do some Overclocking with stock air cooling, particularly with the video card, is posable.

A better air cooler (like a Zalman 9500, Thermalright si-120, or something along those lines for the CPU) will help give you more OC room for temps, or you can go watercooling.

Just watch your temps, and see how it goes. If you go slow, you should be fairly safe.

Good memory and a stable motherboard all contribute, but if you JUST want to OC the cpu and not the memory at all. You can stick with DDR400 and use a memory divider while over clocking your cpu to keep it around DDR400.
