Am I correct in my belief that there is currently NO Bluetooth headset which
will work with the HP5550? For listening to music .

First of all it is not the BT headset issue but iPAQ issue. HP locked an
option to use BT headset with this and other iPAQs. On some of those PDA's
you can unlock it.

To get to know more about it head to this PocketPCThoughts article:

I read the article and ran thru the registry on my HP5550 but it was not
needed as the settings shown after the patch were already in my PPC.
So , the question remains , can I buy a BT headset for my 5550?
I see someone in the follow up on that article, says that they got their
5555 to work so I *guess* that means that I can also get my 5550 working ?
Or does it ??

A BT headset will work with the 5550 without any registry hacks. I have my
jabra 250 paired to my 5550 and it does work, doesn't work great but it does
work.

For listening to music no, the quality is at the most ok just for voice.
Music doesn't sound good at all.

I read that Logitech is currently developing one for HP. Should be out this
fall.

I'm assuming all Bluetooth phone headsets would work with it. Mine works fine (I have a sony hbh-60), and I can listen to music but don't expect much for sound quality. That's probably why you don't hear of many Bluetooth headphones. I do listen to music when I go for a bike-ride.
