You'll probably need to wait until some reviews show up that include both cards. The 7600 may be better, but if you are interested in upgrading, I probably wouldn't bother.

it's arguable until sum1 actuallyputs them in a comparison but i'm not sure. the 7600gt has 128 bit but it has higher clock speeds and the 6800gs has 256 bit and lower clock speeds

We Cant Say any thing Clear until We See Some Tests ... But I Agree With ikjadoon , 128bit Memory Will Stop 7600 To Run Faster Than 6800GS , I Personaly Go For 6800GS I Have To Buy One Of These Cards

I dont know for sure. But some early benchmarks show that 7600 gt is almost equal to x1800. We need to see a side by side comparison of 6800 gs vs x850xt vs 7600 gt.

I bought the eVga 6800GS 256-256 AGP.

I settled on the fact that I can live, and play my games with this card from a 9700pro! This card has given me plenty of money to save on cards.

I started to build systems on Newegg several times over the past few months. But with no game really benefitting from 64bit, YET.

Speed, yes, multi tasks, yes. But I'm not going to do this. I play a game, that is what I only do. Web browsing, doesn't count.

So I plan on upgrading my vidcard to 6800gs, 256-256. Intellisample 3.0
Vertex Shaders 3.0, Pixel Shaders 3.0. Lets not be stupid, this is the future as well. ATI-AGP is still 2.0. Why go with 850, or gto without 3.0? Unless, NM.

Price $225 eVGA, can't beat it. Now my daughter will get the 9700pro, along with my mobo nf2 v2, as I bought a the newest (LMFAO) NF4 ulta AGP for under $80. All came to $289 shipped on Newegg. Compaired to going PCI system would of been $500+ for Opty 145 single core, Opty’s are the best bang for buck.

Thanks for the posts you 9800pro guys. Still figured I would wait with my 9700pro until DX10. But now I'm not going to be pushed as much. Can't wait to replay F.E.A.R. COD2, and Quake4.

As well with all the bitchers out there about reposts about the same things. When BF2 came out, HOW MANY POSTS WHERE THERE ABOUT CRYING TI-4X00 USERS. So, please STFU. Some of us need convincing, especially when really nothing wrong with what we have. Us older men have kids, cars, houses and other bishes to spend our money on. :)

Like for me, I've saved so much money by going with ATI 9700pro right away. You NVidiots have wasted all your money till last year. As I was able to save for the car I always wanted. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2254648

LMFAO, I'm back to Nvidia. But I could car less, just give me a good card. I'll update you guys that are in limbo as I was when my card arrives in a few days. Really, I can’t wait to see what DX10 brings out though.. Can’t wait!! But the 6800GS is a perfect fit if not willing to upgrade to PCI yet.... YET...

I dunno about 'crying ti4x00 users' - I set up my older rig to use a ti4200, and my bro's using an Ati 9500. I could play Doom3 - he can play NFSU2 at High settings, so the 9500 was better in that area.

However, I had no problem using OpenGL apps (especially using Linux) on my ti4200, so it actually is a toss-up.

I don't think the NV ti4x00 series was bad; FX5xx0 was, though (I only recommend one, the 5200: allows passive cooling in productivity / low 3D systems). The mid/high 6x00 is much more entertaining.
