How to return all icons back to normal after a brutal mistake

I had a little problem with my computer opening .exe file. I had it made by mistake to open with Adobe Reader, but I managed to fix the opening part, but icons on the desktop still show the Adobe Reader sign. Can someone help me

Right click on the file type you want to change and select "open with". Then choose whatever program it is you want to use. It should change the Icons of the files as well.

The opening with part I corrected using registy editor, but the icons I don't know how to get back to normal.

Did you try my method to see if that works? Why did you edit your registry instead?

well when I right click an .exe file I don't have "open with" that is why I edited the registry.

or goto your run command and type "sfc /scannow" you will most likely need your windows installation Disk.
