If you use the Flight One Cessna 172R you will have noticed the authors
neglected to define a minipanel (the set of 6 gauges across the bottom
of the screen). This causes FS9 to use the default minipanel which
contains an airspeed gauge for 0-450 mph -- useless for the speeds at
which a 172 operates. Fortunately, the omission is easy to fix.
1. Locate the folder .../FS9/Aircraft/F1_Cessna_172/panel.
2. Open it, and make a backup copy of the panel.cfg located there.
3. Open panel.cfg with notepad or your favorite text editor
4. Find the stanza (paragraph) beginning [Window Titles], and
Window09=ADF Head
Window10=Mini Panel <--- add this line
Fixed Window31=Left
5. After the stanza [Window 09] (ends with gauge00=Cessna!ADF), add a
blank line, and then the following lines
6. Save the panel.cfg file (you did remember to make a backup copy,
right?) and enjoy.
While you're here, you might want to fix the ADF indicator so it is
displayed by default. Find stanza [Window09] again, and change the line
visible=0 to visible=1. You can't really read the gauge where it is
located, but it is draggable, so just move it up a bit when you want to
use it. Note that the ADF is the default MS c172 version so it is lower
resolution than the F1 172R gauges. Presumably this is why they hid it.
Note: if you run into the default minipanel a lot, you can fix it to
have the gauges you prefer. It's located in
..../FS9/Aircraft/Default/Panel/panel.cfg
