- I am asking your opinion an this because I have a budget of 1500 - 1600 EUR to build to a friend a system.

- 1 EUR = 1.21 USD

- He wants to use this system for rendering movies. He will use Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop and Pinnacle Liquid Studio.

- So NO GAMING on this sistem

- Here are the 3 options that I have in mind:

1st Sistem :
---------------

CPU AMD Opteron™ UniProcesor 150 Socket 939 1024K bus 2000 0.09u 1.4V 86W 64bit (2400 MHz) BOX

DIMM 1Gb DDRAM PC-3500 (400MHz - 2x200MHz) GeIL One CL1.5 (1.5-2-2-5-1) Radiator TCCD chip ( Kit 2 x 512MB )
HDD WDIGITAL 74 GB 10000rpm 8Mb Serial-ATA 150 5,2ms WD740GD - 2 use 4 rendering
HDD WDIGITAL 320 GB 7200rpm 16Mb Serial-ATA II 300 8,9ms WD3200KS - 2 use 4 capturing non compressed movies that big because 1 h aprox 13 GB

2nd Sistem :
----------------

- The only thing that he specified was that he wants to use Ati powerd graphic card.

- So I chosed a mid-range VC because Pinnacle Liquid uses both the CPU and the GPU 4 rendering

- Thank you, and I am waiting 4 your opinions

2nd system would be the best since the best dual core system out of the two there would be AMD at the moment (ATM since things could change with the coming of Conroe, but before i make my mind up, i need to see some AM2 benchmarks and a decent comparison between the two performance wise and price wise) so you would get the benefit of two cores for video-editing. However, an Opteron 165 would be the best dual-core processor, very overclockable, and would give the best performance.

System 2, but bump up the memory to 2GB... It'll make a difference when you have more than three layers going at once.

I agree with Bluefinger......Opteron is better silicon..
