I recently asked here for help with the same problem. My HP Pocket PC HP
2215, will only log-on as a guest. I can't sync however. I can install
programs and all that stuff. I just got the device back from HP under
warranty. The device just turned itself off, and drained the battery etc
etc. I read everything that was suggested by other readers here about Guest
problems, but I still can't sync with my laptop. I looked at my device
name, it is exactly what it first shows on my laptop, but then it changes to
"Guest" and I can't do a darn thing. I must have done a soft reset 10 times
already. MS keeps telling me to do that, but it doesn't fix the problem with
my inability to sync. Any help would be appreciated.......Peter

OK.. I will follow up with you until closure on this...
Did you set any registry keys on your desktop under ActiveSync at any time.
There is a key that will always flung the device to Guest mode.
What is your desktop version? and you say your device is 2215, Correct?

I have to leave the house for a while. I like to let you know, I just don't
like to leave an impression like I'm taking my time in case you don't get an
answer back from me. I appreciate all you're doing Juggs
