PCI 2.2 SATA Interface Card

Am I burned? My MB BIOS was built using PCI V2.1, circa 2003. The PCI interface card I bought for my SATA HDD is PCI 2.2 compliant. My question: Will it work under V2.1 in my BIOS? Details, details, details; damn!
