Hey yall, just wanna get your thoughts on this CPU:

AMD Athlon 64 1500+
1000MHz Clock Speed
1000MHz HyperTransport
512KB Level 2 Cache
Venice Core 90nm

I think it'd be a killer chip to overclock, you can buy it in this system: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products [...] 90_na.HTML

Tell me what yall think.

for an x86 I think it's going to suck. If it was a 1ghz alpha or sparc maybe not. The ram for that is less than desirable too at 333mhz. Also the harddrive that comes with it is 5400rpm? I see way too many bottle necks in it. If your going to need alot of parallel processing, you might want to consider an alpha array, or a sparc array.

Somethings wrong with my DualSATA2. I have to set it to 274 to get 220 HTT. Once it booted 50%, 200=100 HTT. I had that chip(almost.) I though I would set a underclocking record, but the 50% thing was just a fluke. It's back to the 5:4 BIOS to CPUz ratio. :(
Perfect for the bad ICM of my winnie.
What is wrong?

I'd sell the Winnie and buy a Conroe, the Conroe'll just be a tad slower but will make up for the loss with DDR2 ;).

Or DDR3. :D

I'll bust out some ODR10, that'll annihilate anything.

I don't think the ICM on that blade is up to anything better than PC2700.
