Anybody remember Socket 563? It was for AMD Athlon XP-M CPU's, they had TDP's as low as 16w, that's pretty amazing.

For almost a year, Intel's Pentium M 780 consumes 14watts idle/27watts full burn and runs at 2.26GHz which is pretty impressive also...

And the 486DX 33MHz CPU uses only 1.4 watts!!!
Amd the 486SX 25MHz CPU only uses 1 watt!!!

I have a Mobile Pentium 4-M at 2.2GHz (Northwood "A" core) in my old laptop that only consumes 35W of power. That never ceases to amaze me as that is THE lowest TDP for a Pentium 4 that I have ever heard of. Most are well over 50W, even for the Willies.

But true to form, it runs hotter than anything (65 C at idle).
