I just updated the BIOS version of my ASUS pv800d-x from the original revison to latest in the hope that it would add vcore. Previously @ stock CPU speeds i was gettin 21 degrees c idle. Now I'm getting 38 degrees C idle. What the hell happened?

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Reach your hand in there and touch the HS. Is it hotter than it was? Course, you would have had to check it before the upgrade.

This kind of thing really doesn't get my panties in a bunch, but that's just me.

The newer BIOS revision was of no use to me anyway, I managed to get it back to the original revision and all is back to normal.

OK, cool. All you really got however was a warm fuzzy feeling that the thing was running cooler. If you sleep better at night, then you scored.
