I don't agree with much of this list, but the show was pretty good. Also, it's nice to see bands like Living Color and Pantera getting on some lists...
I don't think they were going straight for Hardest Rockers, I think it was more like best artists that play hard rock (some of these could be debated... I mean White Snake and Bon Jovi??? Not exactly my idea of hard rock...)

Didn't see too many Canadian Acts in there except Crazy Horse, The Cult and Steppenwolf which are not entirely Canadian but the band leads were either born in Canada or lived in Canada.

Which is very odd because Canadian bands are more popular in the US when compared to bands from countries other than Canada.
When I travel in the US and I'm far enough from the US/Canada border to only tune in US radio stations Canadian bands are rotated more frequently than they are on Canadian radio stations.
Just a zippy stoned observation of twisted musical reality.
Ok the double post where the second post has more content is just weird.
I better take somemore pink M&M's. 8O
What are you talking about? I don't see anything....
Oh no!
I better take some blue ones 'cause you're tellin' me I'm hallucinating.
I'm disgusted by more than half that list...But it's good to see that some of the people who got a chance to vote remembered UFO....didn't expect to see them... No Robin Trower??
I dont see Silverchair in that list and they would certainly make my top 100.
Ah VH1 is American. What do you expect from Americans?
I know...God Bless America.
I find it tacky to ask God to bless a Country.
I dont believe in the notion of God so he/she/it as a perceived entitiy by the masses can bless all it likes, when it likes, wherever it likes.
Yeah, Nirvana in Pyjamas should definitely be in the top 100 worldwide I reckon; they were absolutely brilliant for their age.
Spinal Tap above Bon Jovi? No Dokken? What about The Monkeys?
I'm offended.
Is the Smashing Pumpkins up there? I used to dig their shite and cant see them up there.
Its all subjective, I know, but that list is shite; pure shite!
I liked The Smashing Pumpkins, until I heard Billy on Stern claim they saved
Rock-n-Roll. Check Please.
Smashing Pumpkins are number 49.
Like you, I use to like 'em until they got very self-indulgent. Guns n' Roses are now at that point. Axl is a first class prick who shows nothing but contempt for the audience.
I still have a soft spot for Limahl.
And rightly so, quite frankly. Although what happened to your crush on Jimmy Summerville?
We pleasured each other regularly by smearing each other with exotic oils and engaging in loving mansex [/brekkie time]
I am still a huge pumpkins fan, especially since they were fron Chicago... Billy is a huge Cubs fan too...
He was on one of our radio stations last year doing Cubs commentary once a week... It was quite 8) .
If I counted right, I have owned albums by 35 on the list, and you could add another 5 if I had some more disposable (I haven't' purchased a Rolling Stones / Jimi Hendrix album, yet...)
I do feel that Green Day deserves better than 80, especially with Def Leopard, Sonic Youth etc... above them...
Yeah, I worked out I'd got around albums of about 45 of those artists, but it's a random list alright. I agree about Green Day. Too far down, should be top 20 easily for the infuence they have. Think someone pulled the numbers out their arse.
I also heard you invited Alison Moyet over for a menage-et-trois. [/queasy]
I thought about Green Day (and others) in the top 20, but then I look at the top 20 (top 50 even), and most of those choices are pretty good... Also, I didn't ever catch the exact criteria, but it had to be ranked more than just on heaviness, as your Pantera / Ministry / Slayer / Korn should have been ranked much higher if heaviness was the sole criteria...
Also, any list that puts Soundgarden above Pink Floyd is, in my book, a little whacked...
Floyd should be top 10, easy. Sh[b][/b]it, top 5 IMO. I dig Soundgarden, but like you say, above The Floyd.... fcuking wrong.
I think they got the work experience kid to pick the list.
Another thing, if they're gonna list the likes of Husker Du and Fugazi (both great bands), then where are The Misfits? It's all subjective I suppose, but it does seem that list is waaay off kilter.
Oh yes. Her pearly white baps were exquistite. It was nearly as good as the time when Divine sat on my face [/arrestable offence]

I would agree, but it was a hard rock list... Floyd isn't on my hard rock list... But many of these bands aren't... I do love Floyd...

Or Eden...

And where's Godsmack? They just put out their fourth album, it's not like they are brand spankin' new...
Hey Rob, you know what I put on last night? [No Bomber, I'm not focking intuitively tuned into some Aussie's musical tastes
]
Yeah, well, I put on one of what I would call my top 5 cds of all time: THE CROW SOUNDTRACK!
Focking terrific cd! There's not one track that I dont enjoy and its got some real classics. Great beer/grog music but I've stopped the mid-week-brews in an attempt to exercise more - and its working.
Beautiful music for when I'm in the mood for tunes with gusto. Pumps me up to get out there and run 6kms or so too.
NIN, STP, Rollins, Thrill Kill Cult... EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!
My wife really digs that slow song at the end, that's a pretty good one too...
Yeah, its been played at every piss-up I've ever held at my joint and has always been a crowd favourite.
People dig good shite and all this teeny bopper trash is pure rubbish for the musical minds of enthusiasts.
Like my best of Pearl Jam cd; it gets a huge workout when the lads come over for a bbq and beers or to watch the game with beers or just to drink a few beers on the balcony...

Going to see Roger Waters Sept 9th. 8)
Godsmacks Bad Religon is simply one of the best heavy, kick-ass songs ever!
Metallica in the TOP 5!
"Hell yeah!" (James Hetfield style)
Yes, the Cowardly Lion does rule.
Henry Rollins. Now he rocks (or at least used to). I like a man whose neck is thicker than his head.
Now that, my friend, is one pukka, top quality soundtrack. Got it myself, and I'm gonna give it another blast when I get home. I loved that movie, went to see it on the strength of the soundtrack alone.
A couple Jef left out..... Helmet (jumped the shark now, alas), and Pantera at their very height. Their cover of Posion Idea's The Badge..... fcuking sublime. You'll not hear a heavier track. That song alone got me into Poison Idea. Gonna dig them out again when I get home too.
I've seen Rollins do his spoken word tour, the guy is hilarious, but oh-so spot on with his observations. If you get the chance, go see him. Seen him 3 times now, and he gets better and better with each new visit.
Never got too into Helmet, but they aren't something I'd turn off, if they ever got any radio play around here...
I think I mentioned Pantera a few times, great band... I had a few CD's, and they were stolen
Haven't replaced them yet, but it's on my to-do list...
I liked Rollins from Liar, but then I saw him in two movies (The Chase w/ Charlie Sheen & some chick, fun movie... Had Henry as a cop and Anthony & Flea from RHCP as a couple of redneck hunter dudes... Other movie was something futuristic w/ Ice T and I think Keanu Reeves (Johnny Mnemonic), don't remember the name, Henry played a doctor...) The two movies really got me into Henry as a person... Love to go see the spoken word thing, I'll keep my eyes open...
(I had to throw this in there, not the Rollins I know... OLD pic...)
My bad mate, I meant off that soundtrack.
Think that pic of Rollins was from when was in Black Flag. He's also quite an author, written a some good stuff. A lot is his musings on subjects and his take on everyday stuff, but a really good one to look out for is "Get In The Van". It's his story of life with Black Flag. Cracking read
My favourite Rollins track is Low Self Esteem. Great song.
Yeah, great song. I love the way he reverts to spoken word right at the end, really powerful track. Has an awesome bass sound throughout that whole album, The End Of Silence.
Another album I'm going to have to dig out tonight!
I was looking at his page on Wikipedia, and shite man, he's done a LOT more than I thought!
Last fim I remember him in was Bad Boys 2. I'll check that site now...
Edit: Fcuk, course he was In Jackass, the off road tattoo.
He was in Heat? 8O I love that film, how the fcuk did I miss him in that? Damn...
