Hi. Ive never set up a RAID before. I have two 250g S-ATA drives hooked up right now to channel 1 and 2.
Q1: The MB has S-ATA ch 1 and 2 and then 3 and 4. Can I have the raid on 1 and 2 and then 2 other drives run sepretly on 3 and 4?

Are you planning to put an OS on the RAID 0? If not, I would suggest going with a Software RAID 0 since you have Dual AMD Opteron 64 CPU's, the Processing Overhead is irrelevant.

There should be 6 SATA ports on your mobo, 4x SATA1 and 2x SATA2. You won't be able to have 2 seperate RAID's using ports 1-4 on SATA1, but you can put 2 drives in the 4x SATA1 ports and 2 more in the SATA2 ports because you have 2 RAID Controllers, and that will let you have the RAID 0 and 2 other drives as well. If you need a more indepth description, re-post and I'll accomodate.

Yes. Set BIOS accordingly.
