disk cleanup

When i start disk cleanup it starts but then stops and
will not complete the task. Anyone out there with any
ideas on how to solve this problem. thank you

>Try this: Start your computer and before it loads windows
press Ctrl. Then choose 3 (safe start) It bypasses the
programs you have added. Go to System Tools and use the
disk cleanup icon. If it works there, then is OK.
Restart your computer. You might have to re-arrange your
icon on the desktop screen.

I need to do this every time I defrag the hard disk
