-Gigabyte GA8iexp ver 1.2 P4 2.0-

Yes!It's true!My p4 does want to be overclocked any more after replacing my two ddr pc2100 dimms (384MB) with a brand new 1GB V-data pc3200 dimm.
Before changing the memory i could reach 2.3 Ghz with no issues using the gigabyte's software. Now my pc freezes everytime i change the fsb's value from bios or windows.
Why?
Is it a memory issue? (the memory which supports 400Mhz works at 266)

Thank you in advance :D

Memory frequency affects the CPU's clock frequency causing a
bottleneck on overclocking because of the processors front side bus but I' m not sure. One question, what motherboard chipset do you have and what is ur timings on ur ram. Last one, does ur system crash with ur 1GB ram? I have a 2.66 Northwood but I can't overclock it coz I have a lenovo pre built PC matched with an IBM motherboard.

Well i have managed to reach 2.4 but setting from bios the ddr at 200MHz and overvoltaging a bit the cpu & the dimm
Here are my stats:

I don't know if is stable or not but want to ask you if worths keeping these settings.
Thanks again :D

Also tried 2.5 .Here are sandra's results

But for now i'll stay at 2.3.Seems pretty stable.Do i loose something using the ddr at 230 instead of 266?
