Hi all,
im really depressed.
I need help!

My configuration is
Asus A8n32sli (bios 1103 already updated)
memory 2 sticks kingston (installed in blue slots)
Cpu Athlon 64 core venice 3800
HD serial ata Mastor 300g
club3d x1800xl 256m
case nexus silent 500

Well.
After istalled all, i tried to install windows xp sp2.
The installation went good, after standard istallation
i have installed all the asus drivers for the cd rom
and the ati catalyst (last version).

The problem is that sometimes,
sometimes when i boot the computer with the power button,
or often when i reset the computer or
more often after istalled something that require a windows reboot,
during windows startup (just before login screen) windows bloks.
(i have noticed that often the led of the hdd remain on).
BAD THINGS GUYS, after N times windows never restart at all.

I really tried a lot of thing , reinstalled windwos a lot of times,
but i cannot understand where (or what) is the problem.

sigh!
can u help me please?

note.
never tryed to overclock something and never installed utilities.

greetings form italy,
Max

sounds like a possible memory problem, psu problem or a combination of the two.

Who made your psu?

Have you run a memory test on your memory?

guys this problem seems to be caused by
the maxtor HD SATA II & nvidia4 chipset combination.
the command queue parameter must be disabled in the atapi driver,
because it was not well implemented.

i will send a feedback about this.

as derekhaldir said Maxtor and nforce4 don't mix u need to flash the firmware on your maxtor harddrive in order to fix your problem look up on maxtors website for the correct fireware of your hard drive.
