Hi,

I would like to know if there is some guide that explains in detail how to change your PSU to a new one - not the whole case! What is all the stuff you have to take in consideration, what not to do, etc. I never assembled nor replaced any part in computers so I need some help.

You might be able to get a little power supply education on the PC Power and Cooling website about how to determine the 'capacity' of the correct supply.

I also recommend Scott Mueller's book Upgrading and Repairing PCs to anyone who wants to gain overall knowledge into PC hardware. It's kind of the bible of PC hardware and is updated annually.

Good luck.

OK, I'll write you one, in detail!

1.) Unplug the power
2.) Open the case
3.) Unplug internal power connectors
4.) Remove four screws behind the power supply
5.) Remove power supply
6.) Install new power supply
7.) Install four screws behind the power supply
8.) Plug in the internal power connectors
9.) Close case
10.) Plug in power.

Indeed piece of cake.

@ OP Make sure you ground yourself before touching any sensitive components and be careful not to drop any screws inside the case.

Good Luck!
