I have a friend who has a case problem. He got a Dell 4300S (S stands for slim) a few years ago. Now he needs a new video card so he can play CIV IV, but the 9800 pro he purchased doesn't fit. It's too long. So does anyone know if the Dell 4300S motherboard will mount correctly in a regular ATX case? If so I can just get him a new case and all is well. I doubt it will be easier to find a shorter video card.

That is more than likley a mATX or fATX form factor mobo. The easiest solution would be to call Dell and have them confirm form factor. If it is mATX, then it will fit in a standard ATX case. All else, you can measure the spacing of the screws and see if they match up.

It's like a Fattie, but different...JK - it stands for Flex ATX.

Flex ATX, it's the two-slot form factor shortened from Micro ATX. It fits in ATX, Micro ATX, and Flex ATX cases. Most SFF cases are Flex ATX, though a few are Pico BTX.
